MONEY:

The local currency in Nepal is the Nepalese rupee (NPR).  Click here for the most current exchange rate. Notes are issued in denominations of रू5, रू10, रू20, रू50, रू100, रू500, रू1000 (frequently used) and रू1, रू2, रु25, रु250 (rarely used). Coins are issued in denominations of  रू1, रू2 (frequently used) and 1, 5, 10, 25, 50 paisa, रू5, रु10 (rarely used). In most cases, you can also use Indian currency in Nepal and expect that shopkeepers will give you change in NPR.

Below is a list of inlusions and exclusions for this trip. For your extra personal costs and shopping, bringing USD $30-$50 per day is a good rule of thumb.

ARRIVAL PROCEDURES:

Upon arrival in Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM), a representative will be waiting for you at immigration. This representative will ask for your passport, your printed visa receipt, and the visa fee of $30 USD in cash, and then will return with your visa stamp. They will then accompany you through Immigrations, baggage claim, and customs, and direct you to your driver  holding a sign that reads “Days for Girls” to be transferred to the hotel.
