Upon arrival in Bogotá, a representative will be waiting for you in The El Dorado Airport at the international gate exit holding a sign that reads “WaterAid.” They will take you to your driver to be transferred to the hotel.
If you do not see our representative waiting for you in the arrivals hall please contact the 24/7 local support, Andrea Corba, at +57 301 4732853, or Dru Falco at +1 (516) 690-7417.
We encourage you to pack light, especially for the trekking portion, where you will need to carry your clothes on your back with you. Please keep in mind the following luggage restrictions for the domestic flights:
- Checked bag: 23kg (50 lbs)
- Carry on: 10kg (22 lbs)

We encourage you to pack lightly for the trekking portion of the trip. You can leave anything that you don’t need in Santa Marta with our ground team. On the trek, there will be several mules and their caretakers accompanying us to transport food and gear. Each well-cared-for mule is able to carry up to 6 kg (13 lbs) of weight, and you will have to carry the remainder on your back in a small backpack. Most trekkers will bring one pair of clothes to wear during the day and one to change into at night. See the packing list for our full recommendations.
