Welcome to the WaterAid Challenge: Lost City Trek in Colombia! Below you will find some information that will be useful while planning your travels.
REGISTRATION FORM:
Please complete the following Registration form at your earliest convenience (Click here). This allows us to easily record your vital travel information. Registration and full payment are due by February 1st, 2020.
PHYSICIAN’S FORM:
Due to the physical nature of this trip, a signed physician’s form is required for participation. Please download the form here and return it to Megan at megan@elevatedestinations.com by March 15th, 2020.
FLIGHTS FROM THE US:
International flights are booked by travelers independently. If you would like the contact information for a trusted independent travel agent we are happy to provide you with this information. Kindly forward your international flight information to Megan (megan@elevatedestinations.com) once you have booked your flights.
Main Program:
- Arrive at El Dorado Airport in Bogotá, Colombia (BOG) no later than 4pm on May 16th, 2020*
- Leave El Dorado Airport in Bogotá, Colombia (BOG) no earlier than 10pm on May 23rd, 2020**
*While the trip officially begins on May 16th, we are happy to help make arrangements for you to arrive earlier.
**Elevate can assist with arrangements on May 23rd for travelers who wish to depart the following day.
TRAVEL INSURANCE:
Elevate Destinations strongly recommends that all travelers have travel insurance for any trip they wish to take with us. Please note that some insurance options require purchase within 24 hours of making payment for your trip. We encourage you to review your travel insurance options before making payment to Elevate Destinations.

Guests may acquire travel insurance through the Travel Insurance Center, or any other travel insurance company of their choosing. Elevate Destinations recommends that travelers evaluate the insurance options available for their needs, and inquire with providers about insurance that will provide coverage if the trip needs to be cancelled.
PASSPORT:
Travelers to Colombia should ensure that the have a valid US passport. It should not expire within six months beyond the end date of their intended stay, and it should have at least two blank (unstamped) visa pages in their passport to enter the country. The last two amendment pages are unacceptable for visas and immigration stamps.
VISA/TOURIST CARD:
U.S. citizens may enter Colombia for purposes of tourism without a visa if they present:
- a valid U.S. passport and
- a return ticket to the United States or an onward ticket to another country.
Upon your arrival, immigration authorities will stamp an entry visa valid for 90 days on your passport. If you plan to stay longer than 90 days, you must apply for an extension through the Colombian government.
