Day 1
ARRIVE IN ARUSHA AND RELAX

Arrive into Kilimanjaro International Airport where your private driver will be waiting to transfer you on a one-hour ride to the Legendary Lodge. Check into your private cottage and relax on the veranda with a stunning view of Mount Meru. Surrounded by lush tropical gardens, Legendary Lodge is the ideal place to relax before your safari.

Day 2
TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

Today, your guide will collect you in the morning and transfer you to Tarangire National Park for a full-day game drive.

The park contains two game-controlled zones where the animals are free to move throughout. The Tarangire River draws a variety of thirsty wildlife in the dry season including herds of elephant and migratory wildebeest. Other animals likely to be seen are zebra, buffalo, hartebeest and eland.

After your day of wildlife spotting, head to your luxury tented camp on a private concession for sundowners.

Day 3
TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

This morning, set out on a walking safari ending at a beautiful baobab tree for a bush breakfast. Continue with a morning game drive to explore wildlife by vehicle.

Following an exciting morning, come back to camp for lunch and a siesta before visiting a Maasai village in the early afternoon. Here, you will visit the school and/or learn about the Maasai heritage by meeting the chief and some of the local community members.

Later in the evening, relax with a sundowner, and witness another striking African sunset.

Day 4
Karatu

After breakfast, head into Lake Manyara National Park for breath-taking views and to search for a large variety of wildlife including giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, impala, waterbuck, warthog, the Cape clawless otter, and Egyptian mongoose. Learn about the park’s history and the numerous birds. This is a small, but fascinating park.

Lake Manyara National Park comprises of unique elements to make up the magnificent landscape it is today. Acacia woodlands, water forests, baobab scattered cliffs, hot springs, swamps and the lake itself are key elements of the National Park. 400 bird species and the largest concentration of baboons anywhere in the world can be found here. Other incredible spectacles include the thousands of flamingos on the lake, tree-climbing lions, and the herds of elephants walking through the forest.

In the afternoon, lunch in a banana plantation is waiting for you in the village of Mtu Wa Mbo. Try an array of delicious dishes prepared from local meat, vegetables, fruit, and grains.

After lunch, you will have the opportunity to take a walking tour of the local village to visit different artisans, schools, clinics and learn about this small, but growing agricultural town.

Later in the afternoon, head to your hotel to relax and enjoy the grounds at Gibbs Farm.

Day 5
NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA

Depart early this morning and head for the famous Ngorongoro Crater, best known for its archaeological and geological significance, rich wildlife, and beautiful scenery.

You guide will bring you down to the crater floor where you can see all the iconic wildlife, including the critically endangered black rhino, hyena, lions, elephants and plenty of other animals.

This is one of the most game-rich areas in the world where you can explore the vast 300km2 crater floor with an experienced guide. Stop for lunch in a shady spot under the trees for a refreshing drink or hot coffee/tea which are always on offer in your self-contained safari vehicle.

In the afternoon, head back up to the Crater Rim and onward to Highlands Camp where you will check-in and watch the unbelievable view while sipping on your gin and tonic by the fire.

Day 6
NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA

Starting directly from camp, the Olmoti climb follows an ancient Maasai cattle trail through mountain forest, grasslands, and rocky outcrops. There is a chance you will witness a variety of butterfly species, and are sure to get plenty of opportunities for bird spotting.

Accompanied by an NCA ranger, you will walk down into the Empakaai Crater towards the lake on the crater floor. This lake is famous for the flocks of pink flamingos which gather here. Spend the afternoon in one of the neighboring villages to learn about the traditional way of life for the Maasai people. School visits may be possible depending on the time of year.

Day 7
Northern Serengeti

Today, head to the Manyara Airstrip after an early breakfast to take your flight into the Serengeti! The extensive savannah of the Northern Serengeti is renowned for being the centre of the great migration.

Land and get straight into it with a short game drive, making it to camp in time for lunch. In the afternoon, head back out for another game drive to look for the migration along the Mara River.

After a full day, enjoy a nice sundowner in the evening around the fire at Lemala Kuria Hills Lodge.

Lemala Kuria Hills Lodge is remotely located in the Wogakurya Hills of the Northern Serengeti. A scenic region known for its grassy rolling hills, open woodland and tree-lined watercourses. It attracts wildlife year round.

Morning walking safaris can be added for a fee.

Day 8 - 9
NORTHERN SERENGETI – WITNESS THE GREAT MIGRATION

Today you will have a full day of wildlife viewing where the migration can usually be seen crossing between the Serengeti and Maasai Mara Ecosystem.

Along the banks of the Mara River you’ll have the chance to spot wildlife and witness the half a million migrating wildebeest as well as buffalo, zebra, giraffe, gazelles, impala, lions and leopard.

Take early morning game drives and afternoon game drives to make the most of the best light and wildlife viewing.

Walking safaris can be added for a fee.

In the evening enjoy sundowners around the fire, followed by hot showers and dinner.

Day 10
Departure

Today after breakfast, your guide will transfer you to the Kogatende Airstrip where you will board your plane back to Kilimanjaro International Airport to connect with your flight home.
