GLOBAL FUND FOR WOMEN: CARIBBEAN CHAMPIONS TRIP

Join Global Fund for Women for an extraordinary learning journey to the Caribbean! During this unique trip, you will gain inspiration and insight from amazing women leaders fighting to ensure equality, sustainability, and justice in their communities and around the world. You will visit Global Fund for Women’s grantee partners in the Caribbean Islands (click here for more information) and meet women who are fighting for women’s and girl’s rights, changing laws and policies, and shaping the future.
Throughout the journey, you will have opportunities with your fellow travelers and Global Fund for Women’s grantees, partners, staff, and leadership to deeply explore your visions about how to create a better future for all women and girls. Local guides and translators will facilitate a smooth journey and provide insight into the day-to-day lives of the people you will meet.
ITINERARY:
Day 1 : Wednesday, June 14 : Arrivals
Welcome to the Caribbean! As you arrive to Barbados today, you’ll be met at the Grantley Adams International Airport by a driver who will transfer you to your hotel. Check in and settle into your room and enjoy your first day in the warmth and serenity of the Caribbean.
In the evening, come together to kick off your journey ahead with a Welcome Reception & Dinner.

Day 2 : Thursday, June 15 : Partner Visits
In the morning, you will have breakfast together and have an overview of the week ahead. Afterwards, you will depart for a day of visits with Global Fund for Women’s partners in the Barbados; I Am a Girl and the Ashley Lashley Foundation.
This afternoon will be a “choose your own adventure”! You can either return to the hotel for rest and relaxation or participate in today’s optional activity.
In the evening, reconvene as a group for dinner to share your learnings from the day.

Day 3 : Friday, June 16 : Partner Visits
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel this morning before setting off for today’s visits. In the morning, you will have a conservation activity, the details of which will be shared during your first morning briefing.
After lunch, you will visit another GFW partner organization in the Barbados. Later in the day, you will once again be able to choose your own adventure, either returning to the hotel or an optional activity.
Dinner will be at the hotel this evening.

Day 4 : Saturday, June 17 : Travel to St. Kitts
This morning, you will check out from your hotel and depart for a partner meeting. Afterwards, have lunch before transferring to the airport for your chartered flight to St. Kitts.
Upon your arrival in St. Kitts, you will collect any checked luggage and then be transferred to your hotel. After checking in and settling into your rooms, you will have the afternoon at your leisure.
There will be a celebratory group dinner this evening with movement actors and high-level officials.

Day 5 : Sunday, June 18 : Girls Care Summit in Nevis
After breakfast at the hotel this morning, you will depart for Nevis. You will have the unique opportunity to participate in a Girls Care Summit with movement actors. You’ll have lunch with the girls and community members. Afterwards, you’ll have a recreational activity before enjoying a group dinner in Nevis.
In the evening, return to your hotel in St. Kitts

Day 6 : Monday, June 19 : Recreation
Today will be an early morning departure from your hotel before transferring to Liamuiga Natural Farms for breakfast and a tour of the farm. Afterwards, you’ll have a short hike.
Lunch today will be at Belle Mont Farms, a farm-to-table restaurant atop Kittitian Hill. In the late afternoon, you will visit a female-run farm before returning to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of your afternoon at your leisure, and partake in one of the many activities or services offered by the Park Hyatt.
Come together as a group for your final Farewell Dinner tonight.

Day 7 : Tuesday, June 20 : Departures
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel this morning before your Closing Circle to reflect on your experiences this past week.
In the early afternoon, you will check out from the hotel and be transferred to the Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw International Airport (Basseterre, St. Kitts & Nevis) according to your departure time.
