ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

• Show Indian E-Visa

Please note: As of December 29th, 2022, it is no longer required to show proof of vaccination upon entry to India. However, we still highly recommend traveling with your Covid Vaccine Card. You can download the CLEAR App (download the app here) on your mobile phone to generate a digital copy of your Covid Vaccine Card.

Due to this, extra precautions are now being taken at the airport upon arrival such as: thermal temperature screening of passengers, and random testing of 2% of all international travelers over 12 years old upon arrival into India.

VISA:

Citizens from the US will require a tourist visa in order to enter India. We recommend applying for the tourist visa. Most travelers should qualify to apply for the e-Visa.

Please note that travelers can apply for the e-tourist visa no less than four days and no more than 30 days before the date of travel. The one-month e-Tourist Visa is valid for 30 days from the date of arrival in India, with two entries permitted. One-year and five-year e-Tourist visas are valid for 365 days from the date the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) is granted, with multiple entries. Be sure to print out your ETA form and a photocopy of your passport to bring with you. You will need to have these documents with you during your travels.

When applying for your e-visa, you will be asked about the purpose of your travel to India. It is recommended to say “Tourism”. You can site aspects of your itinerary that do not call out specific partners or grantees. Indian visa regulations change frequently, often with little advance notice, and changes may be poorly advertised and inconsistently enforced. Travelers are urged to check the website of the US Embassy in India before any travel to India to review the most current information.

*Please let us know if you have traveled to India in the last 6 months or plan to travel again in the following 6 months after your program. Your frequency of travel to India will affect the type of visa you will want to apply for.

*Please also let us know if the following items apply to you as it may affect your visa application process:
-You or your spouse works in journalism.
-You or your immediate family are of Pakistani descent.

TRAVEL INSURANCE:

Elevate Destinations requires that all travelers have travel insurance that covers COVD-related expenses for any trip they wish to take with us. Please note that some insurance options require purchase within 24 hours of making payment for your trip. Elevate Destinations recommends that travelers evaluate the insurance options available for their needs and inquire with providers about “cancel for any reason” insurance.

Guests may acquire travel insurance through Yonder, Travel Insurance Center, or any other travel company of their choosing. If you purchase insurance with Yonder or Travel Insurance Center, please be sure to tell them you have booked your trip though Elevate Destinations. Elevate Destinations recommends that travelers evaluate the insurance options available for their needs and inquire with providers about insurance that will provide coverage if the trip needs to be cancelled.

INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS:

International arrival and departure flights are booked by travelers independently. Here are our recommended arrival/departure times:

• February 4th, 2023: Arrive at Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) by 3:00 pm
• February 16th, 2023: Depart from Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) anytime

PASSPORT:

Please make sure your passport is current and valid for at least 6 months beyond your trip departure date. Your passport should have at least 3 blank pages for the entry and exit stamps, or more if you are visiting several countries on this trip. Please note that the last two amendment pages are not acceptable for visas and immigration stamps.
