INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS:

International flights are booked independently by travelers. The main program begins in Kathmandu on November 5 and ends in Kathmandu on November 11. Please book your flights based on the following schedule.

• Arrival – Sunday, November 5, 2023: Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) in Kathmandu.
  Recommended time no later than 4:00pm*
• Departure – Saturday, November 11, 2023: Depart from Tribhuvan International Airport anytime

*While the program begins on November 5, please let us know if you would like to arrive earlier and we’d be happy to assist with pre-trip arrangements. We are also able to arrange post-trip day rooms before your departure flight.

MEDICAL INSURANCE:

Elevate Destinations requires that all travelers purchase medical insurance that will cover them for any medical expenses while in Nepal, including Covid related expenses. If you have medical insurance that will cover you in Nepal please email sarahbesser@elevatedestinations.com with a copy of your insurance policy, including your insurance provider’s emergency phone number.

While not required, Elevate Destinations strongly recommend that travelers purchase insurance with Cancel for Any Reason level coverage. Please note that all Cancel for Any Reason (CFAR) insurance policies are time-sensitive and require purchase within 1 to 21 days of making a payment for your trip. CFAR provides more robust coverage for any unexpected trip cancellations or delays.

Below are different insurance brokers that Elevate Destinations recommends. However, travelers are allowed to purchase travel insurance from any vendor of their choosing.

PASSPORT:

Please make sure your passport is current and valid for at least 6 months beyond your trip departure date. Your passport should have at least 2 blank pages for the entry and exit stamps, or more if you are visiting several countries on this trip. The last two amendment pages are unacceptable for visas and immigration stamps.

VISA FOR NEPAL:

Citizens from many countries will require a tourist visa in order to enter Nepal. While visas-on-arrival are available, we encourage travelers to obtain visas in advance of the trip. For information about visas to Nepal, see Nepal’s Immigration website.

Complete a visa application using this link. You will need the following documents and information to apply:

• Passport
• Recent digital photograph (size: 1.5” x 1.5”)
• Contact Information: permanent residence address, phone number, email address

When to apply: You can apply for a tourist visa no more than 15 days before your trip. A submitted application will remain in the system for 15 days. After 15 days, the application will be deleted automatically from the system. Once the application is successfully submitted, a receipt will be sent to your email immediately. We recommend applying between 7-12 days before travel. Print the receipt and keep it with you.

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu: You will be met by a representative from our local tour operator (Dharma Adventures) and assisted through the immigration process.  You will give him your payment and documentation so he can clear you with the customs agent.

• Visa Payment: You will need to pay for your visa on arrival in USD cash ($30 USD for a 15 day visa and $50 USD for a 30 day visa). Please bring bills that are crisp and new.
• Visa Receipt: Please bring the receipt from your visa application submission with you

Other Documents: Bring any other documents listed on your visa application submission receipt to show upon arrival.

PASSPORT:

Check to see that your passport is current and valid for at least six months beyond your trip departure date. Please upload a scanned copy of your passport to this secure Dropbox folder. Your passport should have at least three blank pages for the entry and exit stamps, or more if you are visiting several countries on this trip. Please note that the last two amendment pages are not acceptable for visas and immigration stamps.
