Days for Girls: Nepal
November 5 – 11, 2023
Join us on an exciting and enlightening trip to Nepal — a country known as the “cultural powerhouse of the Himalayas.” In addition to learning about Nepalese history, culture, and wildlife, you will meet the women and girls who are leading Days for Girls Enterprises, teaching health education in schools, and sewing DfG Kits. On this trip, you will join up to eight other Days for Girls supporters to learn how Days for Girls Nepal is changing lives and communities.
During your travels, you will meet with the Days for Girls Nepal team, travel with them to meet Enterprise leaders, and participate in a number of distributions in the field. We will also dedicate time to explore some of the sights and wonders of Nepal.
Through this program, you will be offered the opportunity of a lifetime. Our small group will be able to see how their direct donations contribute to keeping girls in school and provide dignity and opportunity for so many.

Touring in Kathmandu
On your first full day in Nepal, begin with a leisurely breakfast, and then venture into this dynamic and bustling city for a day of cultural learning and sightseeing.
The day will start with a cooking lesson at the Seven Women Centre, exploring Nepalese culture through language and local cuisine. Beginning with a tour of the center and community greenhouse, you will learn the Nepali names for different vegetables and how traditional dishes were passed down from generation to generation. Dive into traditional cooking lessons with this community of Nepali women, who will share their recipes, cooking techniques, and the stories behind the dishes. End the visit by enjoying the delicious meal you have prepared with new friends!
In the afternoon, visit the Days for Girls office, where you will meet the staff who are working diligently on the Days For Girls Theory Of Change. This is an impact roadmap that illustrates the tangible short- and long-term outcomes of their two main activity streams — menstrual health solutions and education policy and advocacy.
If time allows, there will be some sightseeing around the city. Opportunities include learning about Nepal’s rich history and culture through famous landmarks such as the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Patan Durbar Square, the Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, or the Boudnath stupas.
