Finca Rosa Blanca
Upon arrival in Costa Rica’s capital, avoid the busy city and head to Santa Ana, nestled in the hills of the Central Valley. Your driver will be waiting for you when you land to transfer you to your hotel.
Finca Rosa Blanca offers unique and well appointed lodgings on the beautiful grounds of an organic, shade grown coffee plantation. The recipient of numerous awards and accolades for its extraordinary quality and as a global leader in responsible tourism, Finca Rosa Blanca is the perfect choice for discerning travelers who seek both luxury and sustainability. To maintain perfect tranquility at Finca Rosa Blanca, only foot traffic and electric cars are allowed on premises. Guests are encouraged to participate in the picking, processing, roasting (and drinking!) of Finca Rosa Blanca coffee.
In the morning, your driver will take you to the village of Turrialba, where you will begin your white-water adventure on the remote Pacuare River. Around noon, you will arrive at your headquarters for the next 2 days. Free afternoon to rest and relax.
The Pacuare Lodge was built with a minimum impact on the river and rainforest site where it is located. Lanterns and candles provide light, as there is no electricity at the lodge. No trees were cut to build the bungalows and main lodge. Lumber was purchased from a sustainable reforestation project operated by small farmers. The roofs are made from palm leaves installed by Cabecar Indians living in the area using their traditional style.
Today you will support the “Bajo del Tigre” elementary school and also contribute to reforestation by participating in the One World Expedition “Plant a tree program.”
Free afternoon for optional tours.
El Silencio Lodge
In the morning, you will board the rafts again and finish running the Pacuare River, towards the village of Siquirres, where your private guide/driver will be waiting to take you to your next destination in the cloud forest, El Silencio Lodge.
This peaceful Relaix & Chateau lodge is surrounded by lush green cloud forest and is flanked by two national parks. Accommodation is available in a selection of suites and villas dotting the hillsides of the forest – each offers its own stand-alone structure, complete with private jacuzzi. You can relax on your own porch and watch the hummingbirds, or take a dip before dinner at Las Ventanas, which features locally grown ingredients from the on-site garden and surrounding areas.
El Silencio Lodge
Wake up to the sounds of the forest all around you, and enjoy a freshly squeezed juice delivered right to your door – the perfect way to start your morning!
Your time in the cloud forest is an open canvas, and you can decide how active you prefer to be over the next two days here. Your personal eco-concierge can guide you through the choices each day, from community experiences with the friendly residents of Bajos del Toro to a couples massage at the onsite spa. Walk to a nearby waterfall, take a nature walk with a naturalist guide, or visit with Doña Olga, who will teach you how to make your own tortillas the traditional way.
In the evening, relax with a wine tasting experience, or a special dinner by the river for just the two of you.
Sleep in this morning, and enjoy breakfast at Las Ventanas before meeting your driver, who will take you to the Pacific Coast. Your guide knows this area well, and can share with you some unique spots to explore along the way.
Upon arrival, get settled in at Kasiiya and enjoy the breathtaking views of the Gulfo de Papagayo.
Kasiiya features just 5 private suites, surrounded by lush coastal forests. Wake up to the melodies of the forest, immersed in the exuberance of the tropical ecosystem. Over the next few days, relax into a slower pace and indulge in the finest food, views, and experiences imaginable.
