The park contains two game-controlled zones where the animals are free to move throughout. The Tarangire River draws a variety of thirsty wildlife in the dry season including recovering lion population––an example of APW’s strong conservation impact––as well as herds of elephant and migratory wildebeest. Other animals likely to be seen are zebra, buffalo, hartebeest, and eland.

Dr. Lichtenfeld will guide you down to the crater to get a glimpse of APW’s work in one of the most game-rich areas of the world. The crater floor spans 300 square kilometers and draws iconic wildlife, including the critically endangered black rhino, hyena, lions, elephants, and plenty of other animals.
