ELEVATE DESTINATIONS PRIVATE TRAVEL COVID-19 POLICIES AND PROTOCOLS
Elevate Destinations strongly recommends that all travelers be vaccinated and boosted for Covid-19 and other communicable diseases. Please note that proof of vaccination, including boosters, may be a requirement to enter some international destination countries. Be sure to carefully check the travel and entry requirements of your destination country, especially if you are not vaccinated against Covid-19. Regional requirements are constantly evolving, often with very little notice, and traveling unvaccinated could cause disruptions to your trip.
Elevate Destinations cannot offer reimbursement to travelers unable to travel or take part in certain activities due to not meeting local, regional, or international requirements. It is the traveler’s full responsibility to meet any entry requirements for the destination to which you travel (including visas and vaccinations and/or proof of negative Covid tests).
We will continue to monitor daily updates and information on Covid-19 in destinations where clients are traveling and provide updates on changes that could affect our clients’ program.
Before Departure:
Get vaccinated. At least 14 days before departing on your trip, we strongly recommend that all travelers be vaccinated against Covid-19. We also recommend that anyone eligible for booster doses receive additional doses in advance of travel. Please note that if your destination country requires vaccination against Covid-19, you will be responsible to show proof of vaccination to meet local government(s) entry requirements. No refunds will be issued if travelers are unwilling to meet local entry requirements.
Get travel and medical insurance. For all bookings, Elevate Destinations asks each traveler to verify that their medical coverage is adequate and strongly encourages travelers purchase travel insurance to cover any Covid-19 related cancellations, delays, or unforeseen costs due to illness before, during, and after international travel. In some cases, travel insurance may be required by our local partners, and this will be communicated at the time of booking. Please carefully check your policy for pandemic inclusions, and discuss with a licensed broker. In addition, we strongly recommend Cancel for Any Reason (CFAR) insurance for any bookings in 2023 and beyond. Note that some insurance options require purchase within 24 hours of making the first payment towards your trip. All travelers are asked to submit their travel insurance policy information to Elevate Destinations to pass along to our ground partners.
Get tested. Some countries still require that travelers show proof of a negative Covid-19 test 24-72 hours prior to their arrival into a country. Travelers are responsible for procuring and documenting their negative test results whenever required and ensuring the tests selected meet the current requirements for both the destination countries and any countries to be transited en route. Government policies and requirements change rapidly, and we will do our best to update our clients on new safety policies and regulations but cannot control the timing of when new requirements are announced, implemented, or enforced.
We also suggest bringing a few “at-home” Covid antigen tests in case you need to test while traveling.
During your trip:
Masks: While airlines are generally no longer requiring masks on board international flights, we still recommend wearing a high-quality mask while in transit to and from your destination. Use of a KN95 or N95 mask while on board your flight, or in high-traffic indoor spaces such as airports, can reduce your risk of falling ill while traveling abroad. Please plan to bring and use several high-quality masks for each member of your group, and keep one with you as needed throughout your trip. Some countries may require the use of masks to engage in certain activities or access certain spaces. We ask that all Elevate travelers be prepared to abide by local masking requirements at any time during their travels.
- For each country where we operate, we work with our local partners to identify the best medical facilities, clinics, testing sites, and hospitals capable of providing care to our guests if required.
- Wherever possible, we secure drivers and guides who have been vaccinated for Covid-19.
- We review Covid-19 protocols for lodges, restaurants, activities, and transportation that are booked through our company, and we communicate those standards and expectations to our travelers.
- Travelers are asked to monitor and report Covid-19 symptoms while traveling, and get a rapid antigen or PCR test when deemed appropriate.
- Travelers are requested to alert their guide and Elevate Destinations immediately if they have any Covid-19 symptoms such as:
– Fever
– Respiratory symptoms
– Coughing
– Sore throat
– Shortness of breath - If a traveler tests positive for Covid-19 at any point during their travels, they agree to immediately notify their local contact as well as their primary contact at Elevate Destinations. This will ensure we can best protect each traveler and any contacts while traveling.
Re-entry to USA after travel overseas:
As of June 2022, the United States no longer requires a negative Covid test result to re-enter the United States. Currently, there are exceptions to this policy for China, Hong Kong, and Macau. See the CDC website for details. All testing is at the expense of the traveler and is not included in your trip cost.
We are committed to supporting our travelers from the first planning stages through the moment you return home. If you have questions, please contact your travel specialist directly.
