Reflecting on Cambodia’s History
Indulge in an early breakfast and begin your visit to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum and the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek. While these are never easy experiences, we encourage those visiting Cambodia to learn and honor the country’s recent history under the rule of the Khmer Rouge, a brutal regime known for the genocide of up to 3 million people.
After this, have an early lunch at a local restaurant before heading to the airport for a domestic transfer from Phnom Penh (PNH) to Siem Reap (SAI). This flight is approximately 1 hour 10 minutes. Kindly note the timing of this flight has not yet been confirmed.
Upon arrival in Siem Reap, transfer to your hotel. Take some time to settle in before dinner at a local restaurant this evening. You may choose to take advantage of this hotel’s stunning courtyard pool!
Overnight: Sakmut Boutique Hotel
Day 4: Saturday, March 29
Project G Site Visit
Early this morning, you may choose to participate in an optional monk blessing ceremony. Before the ceremony starts, a short introduction will be given by your guide to explain some general information about Buddhism, the daily life of the monks, and the importance of this ceremony. Afterward, the monks sprinkle holy water while they chant in their native language. To conclude each ceremony, a piece of red string will be tied around your right wrist to represent the fading away of negative thoughts and deeds from your life and to bring luck, health, and protection in return.
Note: Participants in the monk blessing ceremony should dress appropriately with their shoulders and knees covered. Guests are also required to sit on the floor during the ceremony.
After breakfast and the optional blessing, transfer to Project G Centre. Spend the day visiting the students who run Project G, who have sewn and distributed over 11,000 locally-made DfG Kits in Cambodia and delivered menstrual health education to over 16,000 students since 2018!
Return to the hotel after the visit for dinner at either the hotel or a local restaurant this evening.

Day 5: Sunday, March 30
Angkor Wat
After breakfast at the hotel, head out for a full day of sightseeing in Siem Reap, the gateway to Angkor Wat.
The Angkor Wat temple complex will be your main destination today. Built at the behest of the Khmer King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century originally as a Hindu temple to the God Vishnu and eventually transformed into a Buddhist temple, Angkor Wat remains Cambodia’s greatest symbol of national pride and is even featured on the country’s flag.
In addition to Angkor Wat, explore the neighboring Bayon Temple, unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces, and Ta Prohm, a temple embraced by the roots of enormous fig trees. You will enjoy a traditional Khmer lunch during the tour today.
After returning to the hotel for some rest, have dinner at a nearby restaurant.
Overnight: Sakmut Boutique Hotel
Day 6: Monday, March 31
Project G Distributions & Cooking Class
After breakfast, travel outside the city to visit rural schools supported by Project G. Here you will have an opportunity to conduct mobile outreach, site visits, and observe (or participate!) as Project G delivers DfG’s menstrual health education and distributes DfG Kits.
Following a jam-packed morning, return to Siem Reap for lunch at the hotel.
In the evening, transfer to the Angkor countryside for a cooking class, where you will visit a vibrant food market and then make your own dinner with the ingredients you gathered. Learn the art of working with fresh spices, produce, and proteins that are essential for crafting delicious Cambodian cuisine. With skill and passion, the chef will demonstrate traditional cooking techniques, revealing the secrets behind each dish.
