American Friends of the Hebrew University Centennial Mission to Morocco and Israel
June 7 – 17, 2025
INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS:
The Morocco portion begins on June 7 in Rabat and ends on June 12 in Marrakech with a group departure to Tel Aviv Airport. The arrival flight to Morocco and departure flight from Israel are booked by travelers independently. Here are our recommended arrival and departure times:
- Saturday, June 7, 2025: Arrive at either the Casablanca Mohammed International Airport (CMN) or the Rabat–Salé International Airport (RAK) by 4:00 pm to join this evening’s Welcome Dinner.
- Tuesday, June 17, 2025: Depart from Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion International Airport (TLV) no earlier than 10:00 pm.
- Note: There is a direct flight with El Al Israel Airlines from Tel Aviv (TLV) to Los Angeles (LAX) departing at 1:05 am on Wednesday, June 18.
- If you are participating in the Israel extension until Thursday, June 19th, we would suggest the same El Al flight at 1:05 am on Friday, June 20.

Extending Room Reservations: While the program begins on June 7 in Morocco, please contact Abbey (abbey@elevatedestinations.com) if you would like to arrive earlier and we can book you additional nights of accommodation for an extra cost, pending the hotel’s availability. If you would like to stay later in Israel, please contact the Western Regional office at western@afhu.org or call 310.843.3100.
MOROCCO TO ISRAEL FLIGHT:
Your flight from Morocco to Israel is included in your trip cost in economy class. For all economy class tickets, the middle seat has been reserved to provide extra space meaning only 2 passengers will be in each row of 3 seats. If you would like to upgrade to business class for $885, please contact western@afhu.org as soon as possible as limited upgrades are available.
MEDICAL INSURANCE:
Elevate Destinations will purchase emergency evacuation coverage for your Morocco trip. This policy covers emergency evacuations due to medical, political, or natural disasters from June 7 – 12, 2025. This policy also provides $5,000 of emergency medical coverage. More details about this coverage are noted in this brochure.
This coverage does not include trip cancelation or interruption benefits, coverage in Israel, and also does not cover pre- or post-trip days of travel. We strongly suggest you purchase additional coverage to cover your non-refundable expenses in the event you need to cancel your trip or have additional expenses incurred on the trip.
Elevate and AFHU strongly recommend purchasing additional travel and medical insurance and Cancel for Any Reason Coverage (CFAR). Cancel for Any Reason’ (CFAR) coverage to cover trip related expenses. Please note that some CFAR insurance options are time-sensitive. Please be ready to purchase an insurance policy within 14 days of making your first trip payment.

Please email Abbey (abbey@elevatedestinations.com) with a copy of your insurance policy that covers you in Morocco, including the policy number and your provider’s emergency phone number.
PASSPORT:
Please upload a scanned copy of the first page (photo page) of your passport to this secure Dropbox Folder.
Please make sure your passport is current and valid for at least 6 months beyond your trip departure date. Your passport should have at least 2 blank pages for the entry and exit stamps, or more if you are visiting several countries on this trip. Note that the last two amendment pages are not acceptable for visas and immigration stamps.
If your passport expires before December 17, 2025, you will need to renew your passport. We recommend using A1 Passport & Visa Services. To do so, please email them at info@a1passportvisa.com and let them know you are working with Elevate Destinations on your travel arrangements.
VISA INFORMATION:
Citizens from the U.S. do not need a visa to visit Morocco or Israel.
ISRAEL ENTRY FORM:
As of January 2025, all travelers must have a valid visa or ETA-IL approval to enter Israel. Please apply online (link here) in advance of your travels.
