Saturday, June 29 : Arrival in Lima

Upon arrival in Lima, your family will be met by a representative and driven in a private car to your hotel in the Miraflores District.
Relax and enjoy the evening after a long day of travel.
Sunday June, 30: Lima Culinary and Cultural Experience

This morning your chef-guide will meet your family at the hotel for a daylong culinary experience. Enjoy a glimpse the Peruvian lifestyle, seen from the perspective of food.
Visit traditional markets, while shopping and learning about new foods. For lunch, travel to an organic farm in the Lurin Valley and enjoy cooking lessons in a private home. Learn more about the astonishing variety and quality of local ingredients, while admiring the creativity of Peruvian farmers.
Adults will enjoy making and tasting the famous Pisco Sour cocktail. The whole family will gather at the table and enjoy the Peruvian feast – a memory to last a lifetime!
After lunch, you may want to relax and visit the exceptional ceramic workshop owned by the host family. In the afternoon, enjoy a visit to the Barranco District and admire local artists and art collectors. The craftsmen are very welcoming, and many will open the doors to their private homes and studios.
Monday, July 1: Lima – Cusco – Sacred Valley

In the morning, you will be met at the hotel for a private transfer to the airport for your flight to Cusco.
Once in Cusco, join your private guide for the 1.5-hour drive to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The Valley is located 500 meters below Cusco City, which allows for a gentle acclimatization to the increasing altitude.
Enjoy several stops along the way, including a small zoo that rehabilitates animals rescued from illegal trafficking or poor living conditions and Awanakancha – a exhibition center of South American textiles and camels.
For lunch, enjoy a visit to a casa-hacienda that belongs to a traditional Cusqueño family. This beautiful house holds a valuable art collection, and its location will allow you to relax and enjoy breathtaking views of the Sacred Valley.
Since this will be your first day at higher altitude, we recommend that you relax and move at a slower pace. Your guide and private car will be available during the afternoon if you’d like to explore the area.
You may also enjoy a demonstration with a local musician. During this session, your family will listen, learn, and even play some typical Peruvian instruments made of diverse and unexpected materials.
In the late afternoon, your private car will take you back to the hotel, Sol y Luna, to relax.
Tuesday, July 2: Ollantaytambo – Pachamanca – Sol y Luna School

Your guide will meet you at the hotel after breakfast and travel with you to Ollantaytambo – a living Inca village set below ancient ruins retaining the stonework, narrow streets, and family courtyards of pre-Columbian times. Ollantaytambo is an important ceremonial site and the scene of a famous battle where Manco Inca fought and beat the Spanish conquerors during his legendary rebellion.
Enjoy a walk around the village and hike the steep steps of the Inca ruins. Your reward will be stunning views of the valley below.
For lunch, your family will visit a traditional farm and participate in a Pachamanca. The Pachamanca is an ancient Peruvian earth-oven cooking technique. Native ingredients, such as tubers, vegetables, and meats, are wrapped in local herbs and cooked underground using wood-fire heated stones.
After a memorable feast, you will be driven to the Sol y Luna School, near your hotel, where your family will share some time with local children at the school.
In the evening, enjoy another wonderful Peruvian dinner.
Wednesday, July 3: Andean Community

This morning, your guide will introduce you to an authentic Quechua Andean community.
The Quechua people live in the heights of the Sacred Valley and maintain traditions that have survived for thousands of years. They are a are humble and hospitable people who know how to read the signs of nature, work with mysterious textile iconography, understand the secrets of unique flora and fauna, prepare cuisine with delicate products, and share a common past linked to pre-Hispanic cultures.
After a warm welcome, the community members will invite you to participate in their daily activities. Knitting and agriculture have been two of the most important skills in the Quechua community since pre-Columbian times.
Your family will enjoy walking through the fields and learning about native crops and plants used to dye textiles. Watch and participate in the dyeing and weaving process, using local materials.
Your morning with the Quechua community will end with a traditional snack, made from farm fresh ingredients. Drive back to Urubamba town for a late lunch at a wonderful restaurant, noted for the best cuisine in the Sacred Valley.
Enjoy the afternoon at leisure, to relax and explore Hotel Inkaterra. Dinner is included at Wayra, where you will enjoy a Peruvian Paso horse demonstration.
Thursday, July 4: Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu
Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel – Inkaterra (B, L, D)
In the morning, your guide will bring you to the train station for a two-hour ride to Aguas Calientes. Admire the dramatic landscape as you travel, from typical Andean valleys, surrounded by mighty snow-capped mountains, to a cloud-forest valley, full of exuberance and life. Once in Aguas Calientes, you will be guided to the bus that leads to the Machu Picchu citadel. In Machu Picchu, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and spend the afternoon exploring this stunning area.
Your guide will slowly lead you through the citadel, sharing stories and theories about the buildings and temples.
When you are ready, take the bus back to Aguas Calientes and your hotel. The Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel is a gorgeous property, which offers a beautiful infrastructure, built in harmony with nature, and amazing jungle-like gardens where you will find orchids, tea plantations, exotic birds, and many splendors. This hotel is the perfect complement to the full Machu Picchu experience.

Friday, July 5: Machu Picchu to Cusco

During this free morning, take a second visit to the citadel on your own or stay in Aguas Calientes to enjoy the hotel facilities or town. The hotel offers excellent nature walks on the property, which will be educational for both adults and kids.
The early afternoon train takes you back to Ollantaytambo, where your transport back to Cusco will be waiting. Arrive at night and settle in for a good rest.
Saturday, July 6: Cusco City

This morning, enjoy a city tour of Cusco’s most important sites and appreciate the complexity of Peruvian history. Visit the 16th-century Cusco Cathedral and the rich colonial treasures it houses. Admire the Santo Domingo Convent – once known as the Sacred Temple of the Sun – whose inner walls were completely covered in gold. Visit the traditional San Pedro Market or walk through San Blas, where the narrow streets resemble the charm of ancient towns in southern Spain. Depending on your interests, you may also enjoy a visit to Sacsayhuaman – commonly known as “the fortress” due to the huge stone blocks that make up its walls.
In the afternoon visit the Chocolate Museum, where your family will enjoy making your own chocolate and learning about the process from cacao seed to final product. The local, organic cacao is heralded as some of the best in the world.
Sunday, July 7: Cusco – Lima
Hotel Wyndham Costa del Sol (B)
This morning, your private car and driver will bring you from the hotel to the airport for your flight to Lima. Upon arrival in Lima, a representative will be waiting to lead you to the Wyndham Costa del Sol Hotel, located steps from the airport.
Your family will have a room available until it is time to board your flight home, so you can rest and share memories of your time in Peru.
