Suggested Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi
Emakoko
Begin your safari with immediate wildlife viewing in Nairobi National Park, where your first hotel is located. The Emakoko Lodge is a family owned and run boutique luxury lodge, built into the side of the valley, which borders the Nairobi National Park, a 45 minute transfer from both airports in the city. The beautifully appointed rooms look out over the game park so one can fall asleep to the sounds of Africa—a lion roaring, or the cry of a lone hyena.
Day 2: Elephant Orphanage & Giraffe Center
Emakoko
A day of touring some of Nairobi’s more endearing and classic sites—the Sheldrake Elephant Orphanage, where baby elephants of all ages delight guests as they feed and play, Karen Blixen’s home where the celebrated author lived and wrote, and the Giraffe Center, a breeding refuge for the distinctive Rothschild Giraffe.
Day 3-5: Lewa Conservancy
Sirikoi Lodge
Depart for Lewa Conservancy in Lakipia, one of Kenya’s premier conservancies. Here you will stay at the unparalleled Sirikoi Lodge.
Set in a shady acacia grove and overlooking a natural waterhole towards the slopes of Mount Kenya, Sirikoi is a beautiful, small, family run lodge that offers one of the most personal game viewing experiences in East Africa. Renowned for conservation of rhino and research on the herds of Grevys zebra that abound in Lewa, here you will have the opportunity for an intimate and leisurely private exploration of species amidst stunning savannah plains. Evening sundowners with amazing views of distant mountain ranges, delicious meals served under the stars next to a roaring fire and the sounds of animals in camp late at night are just a small part of this magical experience.
Enjoy days at Sirokoi at your own pace. A wide range of activities are offered, including helicopter and bi-plane trips, horseback riding, bush walks and picnics, and visits to a local Maasai community. The option to fly to a mobile camp for an additional night or two can also be arranged.
Days 6-9: Maasai Mara
Ngare Serian
Fly to the Maasai Mara to your next exclusive camp, Ngare Serian. Ngare Serian is a small (four tents only) and serene luxury camp located on the Mara River. Your secluded and roomy tent opens directly onto the riverbank, in full view of hippo and all the other animals that come to the water throughout the day to drink. This is truly a spot you will never want to leave.
Enjoy private fire-lit dinners and a chance to spend a night in a tree house, under the stars. From early morning tea to walking in the private bushland around the camp with your Maasai guides, each moment will feel as magical as an anniversary should.
Day 10: Departure
Flight to Nairobi for your international departure and the conclusion of your anniversary safari!
