Everyone deserves the chance to travel. Yet, all too often, seeing the world is a privilege reserved for the global elite. At Elevate Destinations, we’re on a mission to democratize tourism. We aim to connect local youths to their own environments as travelers and stewards.
Through our innovative Buy a Trip, Give a Trip model, your trip purchase creates travel opportunities for local kids. For the first time, they experience nearby natural and cultural wonders, see the sights, have fun, and make the kind of travel memories we often take for granted.
Since our beginnings, giving back has been a core aspect of our brand, driving us to positively impact the communities and environments of the destinations we visit.
Here’s a recent story that brings Buy a Trip, Give a Trip to life.

The Travelers:
On October 18th, 2025, an energetic and eager group from the Deaf & Mute Community Center in Luang Prabang, Laos, set out on a special journey. Ranging in age from 11 to 22, many were stepping into the role of tourists for the very first time. The day was made even more meaningful by the return of Sister Souksavanh, who had supported the community for five years and helped bring this project to life. Now based in Savannakhet, her visit back to Luang Prabang was a welcome surprise for everyone.
For many of the participants, the day’s plans were a mystery. Only the organizers knew what was coming next. Each new activity brought a sense of excitement, making the experience even more memorable.

The Details:
The day began early with a visit to Kuang Sy Waterfalls, arriving before the crowds. The air was crisp, and the atmosphere was electric with the group’s excitement as they took photos of the cascading falls.
Khamsavanh fondly recalled the morning, “What I liked the most was the Kuang Sy Waterfalls early in the morning, because it was really beautiful, and the cool air felt so nice.”

Close by, the Bear Rescue Center offered an eye-opening experience about wildlife conservation, where the youths learned about the vital work protecting Asiatic black bears from illegal trade.

Lunch was served riverside at Carpe Diem, a setting that was a first for many with its stunning views and delicious Lao cuisine. The tranquil setting gave everyone a moment to take a break and share stories from the morning.

The afternoon was filled with creativity and culture at the Sa Paper Lantern Workshop. Here, local artisans revealed the secrets of making traditional Sa paper from mulberry bark, a craft woven through centuries of Lao heritage. The hands-on experience deepened appreciation for Lao craftsmanship, its traditions, and the sustainable practices that keep it alive.

The day concluded with a Mekong Sunset River Cruise. Drifting along the river, everyone relaxed with snacks and drinks under a sky bursting with shades of orange and pink.

The Impact:
For many, this day marked multiple firsts. Toukta shared,
“It was my first time doing many of the activities during the day, and my favorite was the Sa Paper Lantern Workshop.”
Similarly, Kalong expressed heartfelt thanks,
“Thank you to everyone for today — for walking to the waterfalls, eating at the restaurant, making the Sa paper lanterns, and the boat cruise…I’m really, really happy about our day.”

Beyond the day’s enjoyment, participants gained new perspectives on nature, culture, and community. The visit to the Bear Rescue Center sparked awareness about wildlife protection, while the lantern-making workshop reinforced traditional craftsmanship and environmental values. Socially, the excursion strengthened friendships and unity, fostering curiosity and gratitude.
Importantly, this excursion has paved the way for future collaboration. Looking forward, Easia Travel is exploring sourcing organic vegetables from the Deaf & Mute Community Center’s vocational gardening program.
