Malawi: Service and Safari

Immerse yourself in the village culture of one of the poorest nations in the world, but a country where joy still abounds!  Enjoy volunteering in a remote village location, living as villagers do today, farming, cooking, playing and laughing along side them.

Your participation in this trip will bring much needed human and financial resources to this region.

The village is located across the river from Liwonde National Park, where you can enjoy a first class safari after your days in the village.

Chosen as one of National Geographic Traveler magazine's 50 Tours of a Lifetime for 2015.

Day 1:

Arrive Lillongwe, Malawi, where you will be picked up and transferred to your hotel for overnight.

Day 2:

You will be driven to Njobvu Cultural Village Lodge to begin your village immersion experience with a tour and welcome dinner.

You will stay in traditional housing, with simple bucket showers and eat local food.  Experience the pleasures of simplicity and the truly joyful spirit of the villagers as they go about their daily lives—farming, preparing food, building homes and caring for their families.  This is a true eco-village at work!  Although the villagers have little in terms of material possessions, their culture is caring, inclusive, and respectful.  Dancing is a specialty!  Your presence and participation will be much appreciated.
